Rom 6:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Have you accepted this gift? If you haven't, then consider these Scriptures:

Romans 3:10

"...There is no one righteous, not even one."

Nobody can be accepted and approved by a righteous God on his or her own merits alone.  Why?  Because...

Romans 3:23

"...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

None of us is worthy of heaven. Our sins would lead us to eternal death in Hell and separation from God.

Romans 5:8

"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this; while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

God knew you long before you were born and loved you so much that His son, Jesus, was sent to save you from your sins by paying the sin penalty for you when He died at Calvary.

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

How do we take advantage of this? Salvation isn't ours until we accept that free gift. Here's how:

I John 1:9

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins, and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Romans 10:9

"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

John 14:6

"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me."

If the Holy Spirit causes you to recognize your need of Christ, why not earnestly and truthfully pray as follows...

"Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner.  I believe that you died on the cross to pay the penalty of all my sins, and then arose from the grave so that I, by faith, could live eternally.  I thank you for doing this, and I now receive you as my Savior and Lord.  Come into my heart to cleanse me of all my sins and to grant me, through the power of the Holy Spirit, the assurance of salvation.  Help me to faithfully live according to your Word all the days of my life.  Amen."
